The date for the next Nintendo Direct may have leaked
The next Nintendo Direct will take place on Wednesday, June 15th, according to an alleged leak from a “content creator.”
The now-deleted post on Reddit (but preserved on ResetEra) claimed that the source for this information was the review embargo for a game that will “shadow drop” during the Direct. We won’t say what game it is, but it’s definitely one we’re looking forward to playing. (You can find out what it is if you check out the ResetEra post.)
It would make sense for a new Nintendo Direct to launch on Wednesday. Summer Game Fest is kicking off tomorrow with Devolver Direct, which will feature No More Heroes creator Suda51. And Sunday is the big Xbox and Bethesda showcase. Wrapping up this week of reveals with a Direct follows with tradition. Still, we’re waiting for Nintendo to confirm before we get too excited.
As for what else we can expect from a Nintendo Direct, we’re sure to see more info on Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, as that launches at the end of the month. Nintendo also has Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Splatoon 3 on deck. The new Pokémon games were just revealed, so they will probably get their own showcases later. Finally, we might get a real Bayonetta 3 release date.
Editor’s Note: An earlier version of the story said that the leak alleged a January 15th release date for the next Nintendo Direct. The story has been updated to correctly reflect the leak’s report of a Nintendo Direct on June 15th.
