Solid Snake and Meryl are reuniting to host the Future Games Show
The heroes of the Shadow Moses Incident are reuniting for one final mission—to host August’s Future Games Show.
GamesRadar announced that David Hayter and Debi Mae West, the actors who played Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake and Meryl Silverburgh, will host the show when it kicks off on August 28th at 12 p.m. PT.
The previous Future Games Show was hosted by Uncharted’s Nolan North and Emily Rose and debuted trailers for Call of the Sea, Skater XL, Remnant from the Ashes, Wasteland 3, and more.
GamesRadar hasn’t announced any games that will be showcased during this month’s event, except that it “promises to be another fantastic night of exclusive trailers, deep dives, and more from Triple AAAs (sic) to indies.”
“Games… have changed,” Hayter said in a statement, hopefully in Solid Snake’s grizzled voice. “They’re no longer 8-bit side-scrollers, played under synthesized, electric-piano theme songs, but massive worlds of fantasy into which players can escape and explore for months at a time. In this era of the Foxdie Virus, we need these games more than ever. Which is why I’m teaming with my favorite former rookie, Meryl Silverburgh, to host the next episode of the Future Games Show. Debi Mae West and I will bring you news of the most innovative, chilling and thrilling games coming your way in 2020 and beyond. So grab your cardboard box, put on your stealth camo, and make sure that safety’s off… It’s show time.”
