PlayStation Plus version of Final Fantasy VII Remake is getting the free PS5 upgrade
Square Enix has announced that players who claimed Final Fantasy VII Remake through PlayStation Plus will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version later this week.
Back in March, Sony offered the PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake as a free game through PlayStation Plus. However, it was announced at the time that players who claimed the game would not be entitled to the free PlayStation 5 upgrade being offered to owners. From this Wednesday, December 22nd, this is no longer the case.
The PlayStation 5 upgrade features a choice between Quality (4K) or Performance (60 FPS) graphics options, enhanced visuals, new fog effects, lighting upgrades, and several gameplay enhancements. It does not include the Episode Intermission DLC, which can be purchased separately on PlayStation 5. The DLC follows Yuffie Kisaragi and her partner Sonon Kusakabe as they infiltrate Midgar to steal a powerful materia from Shinra.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
