Neverwinter’s Dragonslayer module arrives next month
Gearbox Publishing and Cryptic Studios have revealed that Neverwinter‘s 23rd module, Dragonslayer, will launch on June 14th for PC and consoles.
The upcoming module is inspired by Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons and is the first to release simultaneously across all platforms. Players can become one of Smerdiuk Dragonbane’s dragonslayers as they hunt down chromatic dragons from the D&D universe.
To start with, Dragonslayer introduces the Dragon Hunt system. Using this system, players can take on young dragons by themselves, adult dragons in a party of three, or ancient dragons in a full party of five. By progressing through the hunts, players can unlock “a variety of rewards to be purchased with parts harvested from defeated dragons.”
These hunts take place across five unique biomes and can also be made more difficult by applying hunt modifiers. These modifiers make the dragons more powerful, but also increase the rewards on offer for beating them.
In addition to the above, dragons have been “overhauled and modernized to be mobile, dynamic, and intelligent threats worthy of the D&D name” and there’s a new Dragonslayer campaign to progress through.
Neverwinter‘s Dragonslayer expansion launches June 14th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
