Marvel’s Avengers coming to Xbox Series X and PS5, free next-gen upgrade available
Square Enix has announced that Marvel’s Avengers will be available on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 when the consoles launch in holiday 2020.
The publisher also revealed that players who own the current-gen version of the game will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version at no additional cost when moving from Xbox One to Xbox Series X or PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5. In addition, players can move their saves and progress across and cross-gen play will be supported between Xbox One/Xbox Series X and PS4/PS5.
Marvel’s Avengers’ next-gen versions feature faster loading times, increased resolution and fidelity, improved texturing and armor destruction, ray tracing support, and more, according to Square Enix.
The PlayStation 5 version of the game also fully utilizes the console’s SSD, supports spatial audio, makes use of the DualSense’s haptic feedback, and offers the choice between an Enhanced Graphics Mode or High Framerate Mode. More information regarding Xbox Series X, Stadia, and PC specific features will be shared at a later date.
Marvel’s Avengers launches September 4th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Stadia, with Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions to follow in holiday 2020.
