Final Fantasy XIV’s new Housing Lottery system detailed
Square Enix has shared details about the new Housing Lottery system that is being implemented with the release of Final Fantasy XIV‘s 6.1 update in April.
To accompany the release of the Ishgard residential district, players will be able to purchase housing in a new way. Currently, the game works on a first-come, first-served basis, but after the update, housing wards will use the new lottery system.
To get started, players must head to the placard at the entrance of the plot they wish to purchase and select to enter the lottery. To enter, players must deposit the full cost of the plot and cannot withdraw their entry once it is submitted. After the five-day Lottery Period has ended, the successful winner for each plot will be able to finalize their purchase and all unsuccessful players will have their deposits returned to them.
Players have four days to finalize their purchase and those who do not will be charged a 50 percent cancellation fee.
Final Fantasy XIV is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
