Final Fantasy XIV update buffs Paladin and Warrior, nerfs Savage boss
Square Enix has released a new update for Final Fantasy XIV that includes a couple of balance adjustments.
To start with, the Paladin and Warrior jobs have received some buffs to help them compete with the other tanks. For now, these buffs are simply potency increases, however, Square Enix is planning a bigger rework for the Paladin job starting with Update 6.3.
In addition to job balance adjustments, this update rebalances the boss in Abyssos: The Eighth Circle (Savage). Square Enix has reduced the HP of the boss due to the internal test team performing better than usual in the fight.
“Under normal circumstances, the DPS of this team serves as a base for determining a boss HP value that results in clears as close to the time limit as possible,” the patch notes explain. “However, as extra time was dedicated to testing this battle, the team’s overall performance proved to be higher than usual. As a result, the base values used for adjustments were too high, with final values roughly 1% higher than intended.”
Finally, the Echo is now available in Pandæmonium: Asphodelos (Savage), which increases maximum HP, damage dealt, and healing potency by 10 percent. Read the full patch notes here.
Final Fantasy XIV is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
