Final Fantasy VII Remake is a timed exclusive until March 2021
Updated box art (via Wario64) for the upcoming remake of Final Fantasy VII has revealed that the game will be a timed PlayStation 4 exclusive until March 3rd, 2021.
This means that PlayStation 4 players will get a year of exclusivity, so don’t expect to see the game on any other platform before then. By the time the exclusivity window is over both Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Project Scarlett will be out.
The updated box is also the first time that the game has been labeled with “play first on PS4.”
Director Tetsuya Nomura recently revealed that work is already underway on the second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake, but it’s unknown how much of the original the second part will cover. The upcoming first entry will cover up to escaping Midgar.
Final Fantasy VII Remake launches March 3rd, 2020 for PlayStation 4.
