Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 update balances several weapons
The Season One update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 brought with it a number of weapon balance adjustments.
According to the patch notes, Infinity Ward has increased the long-distance flinch on all assault rifles and has also made individual adjustments to several ARs. The Kastov 545 has had its ADS speed increased, the Kastov-74u has received an ADS speed decrease, and the M4 got a hip spread reduction. Additionally, the M16 has been majorly overhauled with a rate of fire increase, recoil recenter speed increase, shot grouping improvement, and more.
Moving onto battle rifles. The FTac Recon now has a better hip fire spread and faster ADS speed, while the SO-14’s hip fire spread has been increased on full auto.
Other changes include long-distance flinch increases for Light Machine Guns and SMGs and close-range flinch increases for shotguns and handguns.
Infinity Ward has also made it so sticking a Drill Charge to a Riot Shield will always kill the player holding it, including when using the Bomb Squad perk. Take a look at the full patch notes here.
In addition to the above changes, Season One introduces the Shoot House map, new Operators, three new weapons, the Season One Battle Pass, the Tier 1 playlist, and more.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
