Spider-Man is finally coming to Marvel’s Avengers this month

Crystal Dynamics has revealed that Spider-Man is joining the Marvel’s Avengers roster for PlayStation players on November 30th as part of update 2.2.

This latest hero joins the game alongside the Spider-Man: With Great Power Hero Event in which players will learn more about Spider-Man’s story through unlockable challenges.

According to the developer, Peter Parker has uncovered a new AIM plan to acquire technology that could make their Synthoid army unstoppable and decides to join up with the Avengers to put a stop to it. Parker has formed a tentative friendship with Ms. Marvel and Black Widow, but struggles with the dynamics of working in a team.

In addition to Spider-Man, update 2.2 introduces the Discordant Sound Raid for players on all platforms. The raid follows on from the events of the War for Wakanda expansion and pits four players against the sonic monster Klaw. Defeat him to obtain the best gear in the game.

Also on the way are a Power-Level increase to 175, the ability to upgrade gear to a higher power level, and new Weekly Objectives for each hero.

Finally, Crystal Dynamics is adding Shipments to the game. This new feature gives players the chance to earn cosmetics, resources, and other items via gameplay. Purchase a Shipment for 500 Units and get something from a collection of possible items, including a premium outfit unavailable via any other means of acquisition. Players can see what is in each Shipment before they purchase and the premium outfit will be automatically granted after 100 Shipments, if not acquired before.

Marvel’s Avengers is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
