New Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart trailer shows off the game’s stunning locations
The latest trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart shows off several of the planets that the duo (and the new character, Rivet) will be traveling to over the course of Insomniac’s highly anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive.
Some of the locations will look familiar to those who have played previous Ratchet & Clank titles, such as Sargasso and Torren IV, besides the fact that they are way more lush and detailed on the PlayStation 5.
Then there are locations, like the neon metropolis of Nefarious City on Corson V, that are new to the series. Many of the planets seem to have their own unique traversal options, such as the rails on Torren IV that Rivet is spotted grinding.
Other locations spotted in the trailer include the Urfdah Mesa on Savali, Zurkie’s in the Scartsu Debris Field, the Pirate Base on Ardolis, and the Blizar Mines of Blizar Prime. The game will include “new planets, new versions of old planets, and alternate dimension versions of old and new planets,” according to the trailer’s irascible narrator, Zurkon Jr.
Along with the new trailer, Insomniac also posted a long thread of the accessibility options that will be available in Rift Apart, ranging from lock-on aim to toggling a persistent dot in the center of the screen when not aiming a weapon, as that can help some players with motion sickness.
The last “Almost Launch Party” trailer focused on Rift Apart‘s new weapons and traversal mechanics, and Insomniac previously shared 16 minutes of nonstop gameplay, but there is still one more trailer coming up that focuses on the game’s story. After that, we’ll be waiting until June 11th when Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart launches on PlayStation 5.
