According to the patch notes, adjustments have been made to player visibility and the overall distance from which enemy and ally footsteps can be heard has been reduced. In addition, Infinity Ward plans to “significantly” increase the earn rate of perks later in the beta weekend.
The developer has also made some adjustments to weapon balance, including a damage reduction for the FTAC Recon when in full-auto, a headshot multiplier reduction for the FSS Hurricane, and hipfire spread increases for the M4, M16, and Kastov-74u.
Finally, beta weekend two introduces the 32v32 Ground War mode, the sandbox team deathmatch mode Invasion, and two new maps: Sariff Bay and Sa’id.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta is available now for all PlayStation players as well as players on Xbox and PC who have preordered the game. Later this weekend, the beta will open up to all Xbox and PC players.
