Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II offers campaign early access with pre-order
Players who digitally pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will gain access to the game’s single-player campaign a week ahead of its October 28th launch.
That’s according to an announcement from the franchise’s official Twitter account, which also included some new footage from the campaign. Campaign early access will kick off on October 20th.
Not only will this give players a week to actually play the campaign before the multiplayer takes up all of their free time, but it also ensures that there’s a more steady stream of publicity for the game leading up to its launch. Starting with Call of Duty: Next on September 15th and beta early access for PlayStation players the next day, there’s a lot of time for players to engage with Modern Warfare II throughout September and October.
While we’ve seen a lot of Modern Warfare II already, thanks in part to NFL players who apparently don’t understand what an NDA is, a few questions still remain. What exactly is “DMZ”? How will Warzone change with its newest iteration? And how bad does Ghost’s facemask smell?
We might finally get the answer to the latter question on October 28th, when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
