505 Games to hold its first publisher showcase next week
505 Games will host its first-ever publisher showcase next week, imaginatively called the 505 Games Spring Showcase.
The company announced the news on Twitter, without much in the way of further details or teases. For the moment, all we really know is that the even will take begin on Tuesday, May 17th, at 6 a.m. PT (9 a.m. ET), and that you’ll be able to watch it live on YouTube.
That being said, we can make a few educated guesses as to what might appear. We know that Remedy is hard at work on two follow-ups to 505’s biggest game ever (and EGM’s 2019 Game of the Year), Control. It’s a reasonable guess that the first of these projects, a multiplayer title set in the universe of the Oldest House, might be far enough along to show a teaser.
Another likely candidate is Ghostrunner 2, a sequel to the 2020 cyberpunk platformer that 505 announced last year.
Beyond that, we’re just guessing. A new Bloodstained? Another Assetto Corsa? In all honesty, based on 505’s back catalog, it seems likely most of the games will be original IP, rather than sequels.
