Yakuza 7 officially titled Yakuza: Like a Dragon in the West
Sega has announced that Yakuza 7 will be coming to the West in 2020 as Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
As previously announced, the upcoming entry in the long-running series puts players in control of a new protagonist called Ichiban Kasuga. Ichiban is a low-level Yakuza who goes to jail for a crime his captain commits and is released 18 years later to discover that everything has changed. After seeking out his old boss to find out what is going on, he is shot and wakes up in the game’s new setting of Ijincho in Yokohama.
As well as a new protagonist and setting, Like a Dragon will introduce a new turn-based combat system. As shown in the gameplay trailer below, Ichiban and his party will take it in turns to attack enemies with weapons and abilities. We also get a look at several mini-games in the trailer, including can collecting, go-karting, karaoke, darts, and more.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be available on PlayStation 4 next year.
