We might finally see some Halo Infinite gameplay in July

Xbox recently announced Xbox 20/20, a new monthly program that will showcase exciting next-gen, Xbox Series X news, and we might not have much longer to wait until we can see Halo Infinite in action.

According to a recent blog post from Xbox gaming marketing CVP Jerret West, the July Xbox 20/20 “will dedicate time to focus on the incredible games coming from Xbox Game Studios. While West doesn’t specify what games will be included, the July presentation will include “first looks at new gameplay, insights from our development teams being optimized for Xbox Series X, and brand-new game announcements.”

One of the only XGS games that we know for sure is currently in development is 343 Studios’ Halo Infinite, which the post confirmed is still on schedule to launch alongside the Xbox Series X this holiday season. That means that there’s a good chance that, by July, the game should be ready for a gameplay reveal, which was undoubtedly going to be one of the stars of Xbox’s E3 2020 showcase. The other contender for first-look gameplay is Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, which Xbox announced at last year’s Game Awards.

As for new game announcements, we can only speculate, but the long-rumored Fable 4 is definitely a possibility, as is a Perfect Dark reboot or sequel, which is rumored to be in the works at XGS’ triple-A studio, The Initiative.

Before that, however, Xbox 20/20 is kicking off with our first looks at next-gen gameplay this week, with the recently announced Assassin’s Creed Valhalla getting the spotlight. That Xbox 20/20 will happen on Thursday, May 7th at 8 a.m. PT on Xbox’s official Mixer, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube outlets.
