Warhammer 40,000: Darktide gets a bloody and beautiful gameplay trailer

Fatshark’s follow-up to its award-winning, best-selling Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has gotten a bloody and beautiful gameplay trailer.

Inspired by the other half of the Warhammer franchise, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is another horde-based, co-op, first-person action game from Fatshark, this time set in the hive city of Tertium. There, players will find a “heretical cult known as the Admonition [that] seeks to seize control of the planet Atoma Prime and lay waste to its inhabitants.”

Darktide is looking to expand on Vermintide’s melee combat with more in-depth gunplay that moves beyond simple blunderbusses and crossbows. While we’re not entirely sure how the different classes will shake out, there seems to be a familiar mix of heavy, light, and balanced fighters to play as.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC sometime in 2021.
