Two-factor authentication added to Call of Duty: Warzone on PC
Infinity Ward has introduced two-factor SMS authentication to Call of Duty: Warzone on PC.
From now on, free-to-play players who log into Warzone on PC will need to have a phone number linked to their account. According to the developer, this has been introduced “to provide an additional layer of security for players.” However, it will also prevent cheaters from quickly creating new accounts when they are banned.
Infinity Ward previously announced that is has banned more than 70,000 Warzone accounts for cheating since launch. The developer has also updated its anti-cheat systems to match suspected cheaters together in the same lobby.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
