Twin Mirror reveals release date, new trailer

More than two years after Dontnod first announced Twin Mirror, the studio has finally revealed a release date.

The investigative adventure, which sees main character Sam unraveling a mystery in the fictional town of Basswood, West Virginia, will arrive on December 1st. As previously announced, the game will come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via the Epic Games Store.

Alongside the launch news, Dontnod and distributor Bandai Namco put out a new gameplay trailer. In addition to standard clue gathering and glimpses of the very Twin Peaks-y setting, you can also get a glimpse at segments in which Sam imagines past events, with certain objects and people made of mirror shards. It’s a neat visual, for sure.

This year has been a busy one for Dontnod. In addition to Twin Mirror, the studio also partnered with Microsoft to release the episodic narrative Tell Me Why on Xbox One and PC. In EGM’s review, Michael Goroff called the game “emotionally impactful” and praised its “relatable, complex characters.”
