The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos release date narrowed down
The Outer World‘s second expansion, Murder on Eridanos, will be out before April. Publisher Take-Two broke the news as part of its latest earnings report, confirming that the DLC will launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC before the end of its current fiscal year, which wraps up March 31st.
You’ll also note that Take-Two didn’t list the Switch among the first batch of platforms for Murder on Eridanos. It appears that like the base game and the first DLC, Peril on Gorgon, Nintendo’s platform will be getting this content a bit later.
Murder on Eridanos, the second of the game’s two announced add-ons, expands the world of Obsidian’s planet-hopping first-person RPG with new content, but specifics remain a little hard to come by. We know it’ll be set on the gas giant Eridanos, and that it’ll involve “the final and finest adventure” of Halcyon Helen, a fictional character whose only appearance in the main game is on a movie poster.
Based on how Peril on Gorgon played out, you can likely expect this expansion to raise the level cap a bit and add some new perks and weapons to help flesh out your character build. It’s also likely to take place during the events of the main storyline, rather than adding onto the end.
The Outer Worlds is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. For more on the game, check out EGM’s five-star review.
