Sony and Netflix are teaming up for a Horizon TV series
Sony is working with Netflix to produce a series based on the Horizon series.
That’s according to tech analyst David Gibson, who tweeted (via Polygon) that the Horizon deal is in addition to the God of War show in development at Amazon and another TV series based on Gran Turismo.
No word yet on who will play Aloy, or if the Netflix series will even follow Aloy, but we can see Game of Thrones‘ Rose Leslie filling that role quite nicely.
Sony has been going hard with adaptations of its first-party properties as of late. Also in the works is the Ghost of Tsushima movie, a Twisted Metal series for Peacock, and most famously The Last of Us at HBO, in which Pedro Pascal will play Joel and Bella Ramsey will play Ellie.
In fact, with its acquisition of Destiny studio Bungie, Sony broadcast an even wider intent to leverage its IP for the world of media beyond video games. Bungie CEO Pete Parsons stated that “Sony believes that game worlds are only the beginning of what our IPs can become,” so it probably won’t be long before we see a Destiny TV series in the works.
