S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 rings in the new year with gameplay teaser

GSC Game World has released the first in-engine gameplay teaser for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, its highly anticipated sequel in the first-person survival horror series.

While the footage clocks in under a minute, it’s a chilling look at the revamped Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Without a doubt, the visuals looks impressively next-gen. Plus, the environments are full of nice dynamic touches: a tree falling over as the player approaches, a campfire whipping in strong wind. It’s definitely enough to make us want to see more.

Though we did see some footage back in July, when GSC Game World announced the title would be console-exclusive to Xbox Series X and S, it was a series of disconnected shots mostly showcasing environments and setting the mood. This new video, as GSC puts it, is a better representation of “how the game actually feels.”

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will launch on Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC sometime in 2021.
