Report: Nintendo to reveal two Zelda Switch ports in September Direct
Nintendo will reveal ports of both The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD during its September Direct, according to the latest reports.
Giant Bomb personality Jeff Grubb and GamesBeat managing editor Mike Minotti both confirmed that they are “very, very sure” that Nintendo will reveal the two Zelda ports in September on Grubb’s Last of the Nintendogs podcast (via VGC). Grubb called the Direct a “Zelda blowout for Nintendo,” though he didn’t go into further specifics.
Grubb also ventured a guess that a Metroid Prime remaster would show up at the next Direct, though that seemed a little less certain.
Nintendo has yet officially confirm that it will host a direct in September, let alone what it will showcase, but Zelda ports make sense as a way to fill time before the sequel to Breath of the Wild launches. After showing off a ton of gameplay and giving us a 2022 release window for the as-of-yet unnamed game, Nintendo more recently delayed the game to spring 2023. If the next Direct does feature a “Zelda blowout,” maybe that means Nintendo will finally reveal the sequel’s title.
