PS5 system software update 22.01-05.02.00 is now available to download
Sony has delivered a new system software update for PlayStation 5 that takes the console up to version 22.01-05.02.00.
However, players looking for anything interesting are going to be disappointed, as this update only “improves system performance,” according to the single patch note.
The last big update for the system brought back open and closed parties, added a new icon to show when someone in a party is sharing their screen, updated the visual design of trophy cards, and added a preview version of the voice command feature in select territories.
Sony revealed last month that it plans to finally introduce support for Variable Refresh Rate on PlayStation “in the coming months.” VRR will only be supported on TVs and monitors that feature HDMI 2.1.
