Owners of Fallout 76 on Bethesda.net can get a free Steam copy
Bethesda has revealed that all owners of Fallout 76 on Bethesda.net can now claim a free copy of the upcoming Steam version.
To claim the free copy, players simply need to link their Steam account to their Bethesda.net account before 11:59 p.m. ET on April 12th. Players who have linked their accounts will automatically receive a copy of the game on Steam when it launches on April 14th.
As previously announced, players will be unable to transfer their Atoms and Fallout 1st Membership between the Bethesda.net and Steam versions. In addition, Atoms earned in-game will be exclusive to the platform they were earned on. However, any items purchased from the Atomic Shop will be available in both versions.
Bethesda also announced that all purchases of the game on Steam between April 14th and April 28th will include a free copy of Fallout Classic Collection, which includes Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. The collection will also be free during the same period for all players who own the game on Bethesda.net and have activated their free Steam copy.
Fallout 76 is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Bethesda.net. A Steam release is scheduled for April 14th alongside the Wastelanders expansion.
