Outriders demo getting motion blur toggle, loot drop changes now live

People Can Fly has announced an update and backend changes for the Outriders demo on all platforms.

To start with, changes were made earlier today through a brief maintenance that included enemy nerfs and buffs as well as loot drop adjustments. Captains have received a nerf as part of these changes, with a reduction in the effectiveness of “Healing Light” and an increase in the cooldown of “From the Ashes” and “Phoenix Aura.” While Gauss has had his health points increased for repeat playthroughs and an increase in the healing from his “Steel Wall” ability.

As for loot, the developer is putting a stop to the lootcave farm through the triple chest run and the store exploit by making it so epic items no longer appear in shops and vendors (demo only) and removing legendary items from chests. However, side quest rewards now have a chance to drop legendary items when being repeated.

“While we do not want to prevent farming runs (We get it!), the lootcave discovered via the triple chest-run, as well as the store exploit, do not feel to be within the spirit of the game,” People Can Fly explained. “To that end, we are redirecting farming efforts to mechanics in the game that may be more enjoyable for players to play through and repeat.”

Following these backend adjustments will be an actual update, which is scheduled to go live early next week. This update will add a motion blur toggle for all platforms, adjust the frame rate output for certain items in cutscenes, cut down matchmaking time, and fix the audio desync issue on PlayStation.
