Here’s when Xbox is giving us our first look at next-gen gameplay
The next edition of Inside Xbox is showing off First-Look Xbox Series X gameplay on May 7th at 8 a.m. PT, according to a recent announcement.
This announcement follows one from Xbox head Phil Spencer that we would be seeing next-gen gameplay ahead of when the now-canceled E3 2020 was supposed to take place, which was early June.
As for what games we’ll be seeing, the announcement states that gameplay will come “from our global developers partners,” meaning third-party publishers.
The recently revealed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is confirmed to be getting a gameplay trailer during this Inside Xbox, according to a tweet from Ubisoft’s official account.
Cyberpunk 2077 is also a possibility, as Xbox and developer CD Projekt Red have had a marketing partnership for the game, including a gameplay reveal at last year’s E3 featuring star Keanu Reeves. The game’s official Twitter account has been revealing a ton of new details about the game in recent weeks, which could be a lead-up to a new gameplay trailer.
We might also be seeing a next-gen game from indie publisher Devolver Digital, which replied to Xbox’s announcement on Twitter.
As far as first-party games like Halo Infinite and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, it seems that Xbox Game Studios has something big planned for later this summer, according to a tweet from Xbox marketing GM Aaron Greenberg. That might also be when we get confirmation of the long-rumored Fable 4 that’s thought to be in development at Playground Games’ second studio and the Perfect Dark reboot or sequel that’s rumored to be in development at XGS’ shiny new AAA studio The Initiative.
