Here’s what Cyberpunk 2077 looks like running on consoles
Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has released a surprise Night City Wire that finally shows what its highly anticipated FPS-RPG looks like running on consoles.
The gameplay footage alternates between running the Xbox One version of Cyberpunk 2077 running on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X, and it shows snippets of a mission called “Automatic Love,” in which V. is trying to track down a missing person.
From a visuals perspective, both versions look fairly similar, especially in a compressed YouTube video. However, it’s important to note that the version of the game running on both consoles is technically the last-gen Xbox One version of the game, as its Series X upgrade isn’t scheduled to launch until sometime in 2021. While the Series X does a fine job of upscaling backwards compatible games and automatically replacing SDR with HDR, this isn’t the fully next-gen version that we’ll hopefully be playing in the near future.
This is not the last we’ll hear from CD Projekt Red and Cyberpunk 2077 this week. Another Night City Wire episode is scheduled for Thursday, November 19th at 9 a.m. PT on the developer’s Twitch channel.
Cyberpunk 2077 launches on December 10th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google Stadia. The game will also run on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, with a dedicated next-gen version still in the works.
