Halo Infinite ‘Streets’ map revealed
Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has revealed one of the game’s new 4v4 Arena mode maps.
As seen in an IGN First video, Streets resembles Halo 5‘s Plaza due to its urban setting. Streets looks brighter and more colorful than Plaza, however. Interestingly enough, Streets takes place on New Mombasa. Longtime fans know that the Covenant glassed that city in Halo 3: ODST, but it’s looking like the rebuilding efforts are going all right here.
Streets functions as an asymmetrical map. Halo Infinite lead multiplayer level designer Cayle George describes it as a “medium-to-small” map that plays well in modes like Strongholds and Oddball. Weapon spawns include the rocket launcher in the middle, as well as medium-strong weapons like the Heatwave and the Shock Rifle on either side of the map.
Halo aficionados will have plenty to take in on Streets amid the frenetic action. The map includes a ton of fun Easter eggs and details for fans of the series to find.
We’re sure to see more of Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer this month as we approach the game’s launch. Just last week, developer 343 Industries finally showed off new campaign gameplay following the delay-causing reveal back in July 2020. While players will have to pay for Halo Infinite‘s campaign, either directly or by subscribing to Game Pass, the game’s multiplayer component will be completely free-to-play. Instead of charging for the multiplayer, 343 will offer never-expiring, cosmetics-only battle passes for players to purchase.
Halo Infinite launches December 8th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
