Forspoken’s release date has been pushed back to October

Square Enix and Luminous Productions have announced a delay for Forspoken.

In a message posted to Twitter, Luminous Productions announced that it is pushing back the game’s release date almost five months from May 24th to October 11th. This additional development time will be used for polishing the game, according to the developer.

“Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important to us,” the message reads. “To that end, during the next few months we will focus all our efforts on polishing the game and can’t wait for you to experience Frey’s journey this fall.”

The game follows the story of Frey Holland who gets transported from New York City to the land of Athia. After arriving in this mysterious land, Frey discovers a magical, sentient bracelet has wrapped around her arm that grants the ability to cast powerful spells. Frey must use this new power to survive in Athia and search for a way home.

Forspoken is now scheduled to release on October 11th for PlayStation 5 and PC.
