Far Cry 6’s post-launch plans include Rambo, Danny Trejo crossovers
Ubisoft has unveiled Far Cry 6‘s post-launch roadmap, and there are some surprising crossovers on the calendar.
There are two sides to Far Cry 6‘s roadmap: free expansions and the paid Season Pass DLC. The Season Pass includes the three “roguelite” episodes starring previous Far Cry villains plus Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and now we know when each episode is launching.
Vaas’ “Insanity” is launching in November 2021, Pagan Min’s “Control” in January 2022, and Joseph Seed’s “Collapse” in March 2022. Blood Dragon is coming in December 2021, and console players will receive the “Classic Edition” that’s “remastered for current-gen consoles.”
As a reminder, players who own the Season Pass can invite their friends to play those episodes with them in co-op, even if those friends don’t own the Season Pass.
The free-to-all-players half of the roadmap isn’t too shabby, though. The post-launch content kicks off in October 2021 with new Special Operations that add locations to Yara. Every week will also introduce new “Weekly Insurgencies” and new gear to unlock.
The crossover missions start in earnest in December 2021, when Danny Trejo (you know, Machete) comes to Yara to sling his real-life Trejo’s Tacos, and Dani Rojas needs to help him out. In February 2022, a Rambo-themed event called “Rambo: All the Blood” features a “Rambo super fan” on a “blood-soaked rampage” against the Yaran military. Finally, March 2022 will see the debut of “The Vanishing,” a Stranger Things-themed event in which Chorizo goes missing.
Far Cry 6 launches on October 7th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, Amazon Luna, and Google Stadia. You can read our early impressions of the game here.
