Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 current-gen upgrades pushed to 2022
The planned current-gen upgrades for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are no longer happening this year, CD Projekt Red has announced.
The developer explained in an update on Twitter that it is delaying the upgrade for both games “based on recommendations supplied by teams supervising the development of both games.” Cyberpunk 2077‘s upgrade will now arrive in the first quarter of 2022, with The Witcher 3‘s following in the second quarter.
As previously announced, the current-gen upgrade for The Witcher 3 will bring visual and technical improvements to the console release, including ray tracing and faster loading times. Owners of the game on last-gen consoles can upgrade for free.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
