Control’s Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 upgrade delayed
Remedy Entertainment has announced a delay for Control: Ultimate Edition’s next-gen upgrade on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
The upgrade was originally scheduled to arrive before the end of the year. However, in an update on Twitter, the developer revealed that the team needs “a bit more time to work on it.” Players can now expect it to arrive in 2021.
Despite the upgrade being delayed, owners of Control will still be able to play the game on their next-generation console via backward compatibility.
As previously announced, players who have purchased Control: Ultimate Edition on either Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version for free. However, owners of the original release of Control will not be getting a free upgrade.
Control: Ultimate Edition is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
