Chocobo GP release date revealed alongside new trailer
Kart racer Chocobo GP is coming to Nintendo Switch on March 10th, 2022, Square Enix has announced.
The game features a large roster of characters from the Chocobo games and across the Final Fantasy series, including Chocobo, Gilgamesh, Cid, Steiner, Camilla, Racing Hero X, and more. Each of these characters has their own unique ability that gives them an edge during the race.
Players can select from a number of vehicle types, collect Magic Eggs littered around the track to access magicite like fire and water, and play through a Story Mode in which Chocobo and his friends enter a racing tournament that offers the prize of a single wish. Square Enix also revealed a Lite Version of the game. This free demo lets players access a limited number of characters, take part in the Chocobo GP multiplayer mode, and play through the prologue of Story Mode.
