Lightsabers return to Fortnite to celebrate Star Wars Day
Epic Games is celebrating Star Wars Day in Fortnite by bringing back lightsabers and Star Wars outfits to the game.
Until tomorrow, May 5th, players will once again find chests containing lightsabers belonging to Luke Skywalker (Green), Mace Windu (Purple), Rey (Blue), and Kylo Ren (Red). Sadly, these lightsabers are still only available as in-game items and not as pickaxes.
In addition to lightsabers returning, players can pick up a number of Star Wars items from the in-game store. A few examples include a Rey outfit, a Kylo Ren outfit, a First Order Tie Fighter glider, the Rey’s Quarterstaff pickaxe, and the Dark Side emote.
In other Fortnite-related news, Epic Games announced last week that this year’s Fortnite World Cup has been canceled due to COVID-19. Read more about the developer’s competitive plans for Fortnite in 2020 here.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
