More than six million people played Call of Duty: Warzone in its first 24 hours
Activision has revealed that more than six million players jumped into Call of Duty: Warzone in its first 24 hours since launch.
As a comparison, Epic Games’ battle royale Fortnite hit one million players in its first 24 hours, while Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends surpassed 2.5 million players. Fortnite went on to reach 10 million players after two weeks, while Apex hit 25 million players after one week.
The free-to-play Warzone allows players to take part in two game modes: Battle Royale and Plunder. Battle Royale sees 150 players fighting in squads of three to be the last players standing as the circle of deadly gas closes in. In Plunder the aim is to collect the most money by looting, completing contracts, and defeating enemies.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now as a free download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
