Report: Ubisoft to reveal Assassin’s Creeds set in Japan, HRE
Following yesterday’s announcement that Ubisoft would reveal “the future” of Assassin’s Creed at its upcoming Forward event, new reports indicate that we will see multiple new titles in the franchise on Saturday.
Industry insider Tom Henderson, writing for Try Hard Guides, reports that Ubisoft will unveil three new Assassin’s Creed games on top of the already-revealed Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Two of those games will make up part of the previously announced Assassin’s Creed Infinity, while the third will be a mobile game.
The report indicates that Ubisoft codenamed the two Infinity projects “Red” and “Hexe.” Henderson states that Project Red will bring players to Japan, while Project Hexe will take place during the “witch hunt era in 16th Century Europe,” specifically in the Holy Roman Empire. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier corroborated the report.
Meanwhile, the mobile game, codenamed “Project Jade,” will take place in China. Ubisoft will also unveil the final DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Henderson notes.
Given Henderson’s track record, as well as the fact that fans have long clamored for an Assassin’s Creed set in Japan, we have no reason to doubt the report. We will find out for sure on September 10th when Ubisoft finally hosts its leaky Forward event.
