Ubisoft announces two new Ubisoft Forward streams

After a long absence, Ubisoft is bringing back Ubisoft Forward, the company’s livestream showcases that have traditionally offered updates on upcoming games and new reveals. The publisher announced two upcoming shows—one coming later this week, and one in about two months.

First up, on July 7th, we’re getting an Ubisoft Forward focused entirely on Skull and Bones, the long-simmering pirate game that looks poised to finally release this year. The stream, which promises “in-depth look at the upcoming open world multiplayer pirate game inspired by the Indian Ocean during the Golden Age of Piracy,” begins Thursday at 11 a.m. PT.

But it’s the second Forward that should really have Ubifans salivating. On September 10th at noon PT, Ubisoft will stream “updates and news on multiple games and projects.” This Ubisoft Forward will clearly be the replacement for the company’s traditional summer showcase, which had been pegged to an E3 press conference in June before the COVID pandemic turned the industry on its head. Given Ubisoft’s standard M.O., you can likely expect release dates for a slew of already-announced projects, as well as a few surprises.

Though we can’t say for sure what games might make the cut, we can say we’re waiting on updates on a long list of titles, including Beyond Good and Evil 2, Project Q, and the remake of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.

There’s also Assassin’s Creed Infinity, though we may hear about that franchise during a separate event. Ubisoft previously promised some kind of livestream for September. At the moment, it’s unclear whether that will be part of this Forward or its own separate broadcast.
