EA cancels EA Play Live 2022
EA has cancelled any plans it might have had for EA Play Live 2022 this summer.
According to a statement given to IGN, EA wouldn’t have had enough to show during its annual summer showcase to justify hosting it. “Things aren’t lining up to show you everything on one date,” an EA rep said. “We have exciting things happening at our world-class studios and this year we’ll reveal much more about these projects when the time is right for each of them.”
EA isn’t lacking in upcoming titles to want to promote. BioWare is working on both the new Mass Effect game and Dragon Age 4, EA Sports has its slate of titles (including the return of golf in EA Sports PGA Tour), the Dead Space remake, and three Star Wars games from Respawn. But apparently those projects are all on very different points of development at the moment. And who knows what’s going on with Battlefield 2042‘s Season 1 content.
As far as other summer video game shows are concerned, Gamescom announced the return of its in-person event this summer. E3 2022, meanwhile, is going all digital yet again.
