Nintendo Switch Online adds Missions & Rewards

Nintendo has launched a new Missions & Rewards section for Switch Online that lets subscribers earn digital rewards by completing certain tasks.

It’s easy enough to get started. Just turn on your Switch, head over to the Switch Online app, and select the Missions & Rewards tab. Examples of missions include “things you’re probably already doing with your Switch” like “playing software that supports online play” and “backing up save data.”

Completing missions will earn you Platinum Points that you can then spend on rewards like icon elements. Right now, rewards are themed around Super Mario Odyssey and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Specifically, the New Horizons rewards include icons for residents with birthdays in March.

Nintendo continues to expand its Switch Online offerings to keep in step with what Xbox and PlayStation offer through their own subscription services. Most recently, Nintendo added The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask to its Switch Online + Expansion Pass library.
