Despite not having official date, Battlefield 2042 beta reportedly delayed
It’s one of the great philosophical questions of our time, right up there with “If a bear farts in the woods and no one’s there to smell it, did the bear actually fart?”
The question I pose to you is this: Can something that was never announced in the first place be delayed? According to leaker Tom Henderson (via Eurogamer), the answer is a resounding yes.
Yesterday, DICE confirmed that Battlefield 2042‘s launch date was being delayed a little less than a month to November 19th. Henderson, who we previously reported leaking the open beta dates for Battlefield 2042, is now saying that the open beta has been pushed back to October 6th for early access and October 8th for everyone else.
Neither DICE or EA have set a release date for the open beta yet, so technically the only thing that would make it delayed is the fact that they previously stated it would launch sometime in September. If the beta launches in early October, that’s technically later than they said it would be, but does that make it a delay? Beyond the initial September release window, the only further details DICE has shared about the open beta is that it will share more details this month, according to yesterday’s delay announcement.
Battlefield 2042 launches on November 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
