Yakuza: Like a Dragon trailer features the return of Kiryu
Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have released a new story trailer for Yakuza 7, which is known as Yakuza: Like a Dragon in the West.
In the 10-minute trailer below we see protagonist Ichiban Kasuga dealing with several characters in a variety of situations. However, the really interesting thing happens at the very end of the trailer when former Yakuza protagonist Kazuma Kiryu shows up. Kiryu is shown preparing to fight Kasuga, but whether this is just a small cameo in the game is unknown.
As mentioned above, Like a Dragon features a new protagonist called Ichiban Kasuga, a low-level Yakuza who was sent to jail for 18 years for a crime his captain committed. In addition to a new protagonist, this latest entry also changes up combat by introducing a new turn-based system and multiple party members.
A demo for the game is available now on the Japanese PlayStation Store.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is scheduled to launch in January 2020 for PlayStation 4 in Japan, with a Western release to follow later in 2020.
