Xbox Series S officially revealed, price confirmed
Update: Microsoft has now also uploaded the full reveal video for the Xbox Series S, so we’ve replaced the leaked version with the proper source. That new trailer also confirmed the Xbox Series S’s release date: November 10th.
Original Story: The Xbox Series S, one of gaming’s worst kept secrets, has been officially announced by Microsoft.
The younger brother of the Xbox Series X is described as “the smallest Xbox ever” and will cost $299 at launch. More information about the next-gen console will be shared “soon,” according to Microsoft.
In addition to the official confirmation, a trailer has leaked online that reveals the specs of the all-digital Xbox Series S ahead of time. The console features a custom 512 GB NVME SSD that utilizes the velocity architecture, support for frame rates up to 120 FPS at 1440p, 4K upscaling, 4K media playback, and ray tracing support. All of this in a box that is “nearly 60% smaller than Xbox Series X.”
The Xbox Series S is scheduled to release this November for $299.
