Watch the first trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Warner Bros. Games and Rocksteady Studios have debuted the first trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League during the DC FanDome stream.
As it says on the box, the game will put players in the shoes of four members of Task Force X—Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark—as they attempt to kill the Justice League. You’ll be able to play the game solo with AI companions or with up to three friends in co-op.
Now, if killing DC’s biggest team of superheroes sounds like a particularly evil objective, it appears that Harley and the squad are actually doing the world a favor of sorts. The Superman we see in the trailer has seemingly been turned evil himself—we’re guessing due to the work of supervillain Brainiac.
You’ll also be exploring Superman’s home turf of Metropolis, though no word yet on whether other DC Comics locales will also make an appearance. Likewise, we only saw Superman in the trailer, but other mentions in the presentation at least hinted that Flash and Batman will also be targets.
Interestingly, Suicide Squad will take place in the same universe as the Batman: Arkham games, so expect to see some nods to continuity there.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC in 2022.
