Wasteland 3 trailer is all about co-op
InXile Entertainment has shared details about Wasteland 3’s co-op mode and released a new trailer for the game.
“In Wasteland 3’s co-op you can work with a partner to strategize in tactical combat, make decisions on how to navigate the gangs, factions, and cults of Colorado, and how to divvy up their loot,” communications director Micah Whipple wrote on Xbox Wire.
To begin a co-op session, choose multiplayer from the main menu and invite a friend. Players can also post their game to the public browser or join a friend directly via their IP on PC.
If starting a new game, the host needs to choose the difficulty options and then both players can customize their Ranger. While players who are loading a save with more than two characters will need to decide who will control each squad member through squad management.
The host will have control over squad setup, joint conversation options, and driving the Kodiak by default. However, the host can choose to hand over control of joint conversation options if they wish to. Both players can loot, shop at merchants, and have conversations with NPCs on their own.
“Once you’re done playing, the options are open for how each of you want to continue next time,” Whipple added. “Both the host and guest will have saves from the co-op session they had, and each can separately choose to continue playing that save by themselves, or they could wait and continue playing together later.”
Wasteland 3 launches August 28th for Xbox One and Windows 10. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC from day one.
