TwitchCon Amsterdam has been canceled due to coronavirus
Twitch has made the decision to cancel TwitchCon Amsterdam due to concerns regarding coronavirus.
“We have been monitoring Coronavirus concerns and having weighed the potential health risks to our community we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel TwitchCon Amsterdam,” a message on the official TwitchCon site explains.
“TwitchCon is the best weekend to be a Twitch fan. To say we’re disappointed you won’t be able to enjoy the show we’ve been building for you is a massive understatement. But the health and safety of our community, employees, and everyone else who has a part in making TwitchCon happen is, as always, our top priority.”
According to Twitch, anyone who purchased a ticket to the event will be refunded the full amount. A confirmation email will be sent to attendees and cancellations will be issued no later than March 20th.
As for hotels, attendees who booked through Twitch’s hotel block can cancel their booking free of charge. However, bookings made outside of the block cannot be guaranteed. More information about the cancellation and refunds can be found here.
TwitchCon was scheduled to take place in Amsterdam on May 2nd-3rd.
