Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands releases 20-minute gameplay walkthrough
Gearbox has released 20 minutes of pure, unadulterated Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands gameplay, and it’s basically fantasy Borderlands.
That’s not a bad thing, but if you were expecting Wonderlands to completely overhaul the Borderlands experience, then you were way off. Instead, the game takes the best of Borderlands’ gameplay and parodic storytelling and transposes that on a sword and sorcery–style world. Except, instead of swords, they’re guns.
One area where Wonderlands diverges from Borderlands a bit is in its overworld. Instead of accessing the game’s areas through a spaceship, players will travel on a board game-ish map, where they will encounter different NPCs and receive their quests.
In this instance, the players in the gameplay video encounter representatives of the Goblins Tired of Force Oppression (or GTFO) and discover that the group’s leadership is hanging out in Craw’s Craw on Mount Craw. There they meet Jar, who leads them on a revolutionary quest against the “dragon god” who’s keeping the goblins under the boot of tyranny.
All told, the gameplay includes two boss fights over the course of 20 minutes in an area that creative director Matt Cox reminds us is “completely optional.”
Tiny Tina‘s Wonderlands launches March 25th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
