The SingStar servers are being shut down in January
Sony has announced that it will shut down the servers for karaoke game SingStar on January 31st, 2020.
Following the closure, players will no longer be able to purchase or download songs, view user-generated content, record media for sharing, track high scores, and complete online challenges. In addition, the Channel Surfer, Concert Debut, Stars in My Eyes, and SingStar trophies will no longer be obtainable.
Players will still be able to play songs that are on physical disks, player digitally purchased songs, redownload previously deleted songs (PS4 only), play Party Mode, and create song playlists.
“We’ve loved watching the community grow, and have lots of fond memories from working on SingStar,” the development team wrote in a post. “Your support over the years has meant the world.”
More information about the upcoming server closure can be found over on the official PlayStation website.
