The Lord of the Rings: Gollum release date revealed
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum launches on September 1st for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, publisher Nacon and developer Daedalic Entertainment have announced.
The upcoming game follows Gollum through the first chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring after he lost the ring to Bilbo Baggins. After losing the ring, Gollum decides to leave the Misty Mountains and head out on a journey “that leads him from the dungeons of Barad-dûr to the realm of the Wood-elves in Mirkwood,” according to developer Daedalic.
Gollum must “sneak and climb and use all his cunning” to survive the dangers he encounters on his journey while dealing with his Hobbit-self known as Sméagol. Players get to decide which of the two personalities gets the upper hand when it comes to decision-making.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 1st. A Nintendo Switch release is set to follow later this year.
