The Good Life delayed
White Owls Inc. has pushed back the release of upcoming adventure game The Good Life from Q4 2019 to spring 2020.
In an update on Kickstarter, Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro revealed that the game has been delayed to deliver it “in the best condition possible.”
“It’s a very important, heavy decision, but we made it believing that it’s the happiest decision for all the people who are going to eventually play it. Therefore, we humbly ask that you wait a little bit longer for The Good Life to reach your hands,” he wrote.
“We’re very sorry about this, because we know you’ve all been waiting very patiently for The Good Life. We only came to the decision due to prioritizing the quality of the game above all else. We sincerely hope you can understand our feelings on this issue, and will continue to support us.”
Suehiro went on to detail how the game has changed since the original campaign ended, including a larger map, more background details, more shops, the introduction of a photography mini-game, and the addition of gardening.
The Good Life tells the story of Naomi, a New Yorker who takes a job from a newspaper company that sees her move to “the happiest town in the world.” However, things aren’t as they seem, as once a month, everyone who lives in the town transforms into either a cat or a dog, including Naomi.
The game is in development for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
